- Marguerite Barankitse, better known by his nickname “Maggy”, humanitarian activist who works to improve the welfare of children and challenge ethnic discrimination in Burundi. Founder of the Maison Shalom, a network of shelters for children in need.
Maggy realized that her mission was to fight against the hatred and indifference that ravage the Great Lakes region by giving these children an alternative to hatred: “Maison Shalom is a house of peace and love, where the life of every human being and his dignity would be respected. “
